Ethics

Authors

The authors have to declare and ensure that all work involving human subjects or animal experiments is following the ethical principles written down in the declaration of Helsinki. Furthermore, study protocols and experimental procedures must have been reviewed by an appropriate committe, which has to be stated in the manuscript.

Authors have to comply with best scientific practice. Ghost authorship, dual submission or plagiarism are not acceptable.

Competing interests, especially financial ones (e.g. commercial sponsorships), have to be stated in the Disclosure Statement. Reviewers have to guarantee a fair reviewing process by keeping the manuscripts confidential and declaring competing interest. Complains about articles will be first discussed between the authors and the editorial team. Any fraud will be investigated following COPE’s guidelines.

Cell Physiol Biochem encourages authors to submit only high quality articles. Hence, authors should adhere to Research Reporting Guidelines and Initiatives that provide advice for the reporting of research findings.

Plagiarism

Whether intentional or not, plagiarism is a serious offense. If evidence of plagiarism is found before or after acceptance, or after publication of the paper, the author will be offered a chance for rebuttal. If the arguments are found to be unsatisfactory, the manuscript will be retracted and the author sanctioned from publishing papers for a period to be determined by the responsible Editor(s).

It is the authors’ responsibility to obtain permission to reproduce illustrations, tables, etc., from other publications.

Scientific Misconduct

Cell Physiol Biochem aims to publish scientific articles of highest quality. In case of complains and/or indication of scientific misconduct, the Editor-in-Chief and the Publisher will contact the corresponding author to respond to the issues raised. The authors must agree to cooperate with the Editor-in-Chief and the Publisher. The authors must respond immediately and conclusively address all points. Additionally, the authors must provide original data and/or any information requested by the Editor-in-Chief or the Publisher. In case that the proposed claims cannot be ruled out further consequences such as publication of an Erratum or even a Retraction might be necessary.
